Dele Momodu, a former presidential candidate and prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Bola Tinubu. He accused the party of making a careless move by attacking the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, who he described as their “biggest brand.”
According to DAILY POST, political leaders have been visiting Buhari’s residence in Kaduna. On Friday, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje led a delegation to meet Buhari, just hours after opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar and Nasir el-Rufai, had done the same.
Momodu, speaking on Arise Television, expressed disbelief at the situation. He questioned how a sitting president could attack his predecessor, especially when both belong to the same political party.
He said, “How does a political party wake up and start attacking their biggest brand, Buhari? How does a president wake up and start attacking his immediate predecessor from the same political party?”
This series of events has raised eyebrows, especially as the APC leadership has visited Buhari twice in recent weeks. It remains unclear why the party is now distancing itself from its former leader, a move that has left many perplexed.
