Comedian Mr. Macaroni has publicly responded to claims made by fellow comedian Seyi Law, addressing what he described as “unnecessary lies” about their past collaborations.
According to a post shared by Mr. Macaroni on X (formerly Twitter), he expressed disappointment at the allegations and felt compelled to set the record straight.
Mr. Macaroni clarified that it was Seyi Law who first approached him in December 2019 with an idea for a project, which they then worked on together.
At the time, Mr. Macaroni had already gained significant attention online, with nearly 100,000 followers, a factor he believes played a part in Seyi Law reaching out to him.
In the post, Mr. Macaroni emphasized that Seyi Law had seen the value in their collaboration and benefited from it, especially when he later sought Mr. Macaroni’s help to promote his show in February 2020.
He further expressed that it was hurtful to have to publicly correct the narrative. “Ehya Uncle Seyi, you shouldn’t be doing this to yourself. I am ashamed that you are doing this and it breaks my heart that I also have to respond to you this way to correct some of these unnecessary lies,” he wrote.
Additionally, Mr. Macaroni denied the claim that he had asked Seyi Law’s cousin to contact him. He clarified that he never requested his support and explained that it was Seyi Law who had invited him to participate in the birthday celebration in January 2020.
In his post, Mr. Macaroni also reminded his followers of his growing influence at the time, having already worked with other stars like Lateef Adedimeji and Broda Shaggi, and having more than 100,000 followers.
“Contrary to your claim that you agreed to support me when Tolu brought me to your Mom’s birthday in January 2020, you invited me yourself for the birthday celebration and I honored you with my presence,” he added.
He went on to point out that their collaboration was a mutual effort, and Seyi Law recognized the value in Mr. Macaroni’s growing popularity.
Mr. Macaroni concluded his message by wishing Seyi Law well: “Happy 20th Anniversary Egbon. May God bless you and keep you.”
