Serie A star David Neres was robbed at gunpoint following Napoli’s dramatic win over Parma.
Neres joined Napoli this summer from Benfica for €28 million (£23.5 million) and was part of the team that narrowly escaped a scare from Parma, with Romelu Lukaku and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa scoring late goals to secure a 2-1 victory.
Neres provided the assist for Anguissa’s 96th-minute winner, his second assist of the season.
However, after the match, the Brazilian winger was targeted by two armed thieves.
Local reports indicate that the robbers shattered the window of Neres’ black minibus and forced him to hand over his watch at gunpoint.
A video circulating on social media shows a visibly shaken Neres being escorted to safety following the incident.
Following the incident, Kira Winona posted on Instagram: “David would like to apologize to the fans who were waiting for him outside.
As they were trying to leave the stadium after the match, two men on a motorcycle wrecked his car and robbed him at gunpoint.”
Neres is still adjusting to life in southern Italy after his summer transfer, and this unsettling incident marks a difficult moment in his early days at Napoli.
