Mauro Meluso, the new sporting director of Napoli, has provided an exciting update on the transfer situation of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, who had a remarkable season with Napoli, attracting interest from top European clubs, may potentially be sold by the club.

Paris Saint-Germain is the only club that may have the financial means to meet Napoli’s reported valuation of €200 million for Osimhen.

PSG has already made an initial bid of €100 million, which was rejected by Napoli.

During his introductory press conference, Meluso acknowledged the significance of retaining Osimhen and stated that any decision regarding his future will be made collectively with the management.

As per Tutto Napoli, the newly appointed Napoli sporting director stated, “I’ve just arrived, and I understand that retaining Osimhen would be a significant achievement. He brings a unique dimension to the team, and players like him are few and far between.

“However, I am still getting acquainted with the situation, and we will evaluate all options collectively with the management. Any decision made will be a joint one.”

Osimhen has expressed his desire to stay in Naples and maintain his connection with the club’s passionate fanbase, but he has also expressed a lifelong dream of playing in the English Premier League, with clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United also interested in signing him alongside PSG.
