New Minister Sets Overambitious Goal to Lift 133 Million Nigerians Out of Poverty

Dr Betta Edu, the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has set an ambitious goal to lift 133 million Nigerians out of poverty.

She emphasized the importance of different interventions and initiatives to reduce poverty and achieve this target.

Despite the challenges, Edu expressed determination and a strong will to make this goal a reality.

It is worth noting that the National Bureau of Statistics has reported that 65 percent of Nigerians are currently living in multidimensional poverty.

Edu has taken over from Sadiya Umar Farouq and is now responsible for addressing the poverty-related challenges faced by Nigerians.
