Erling Haaland, the rising football star, has broken yet another record by scoring his 45th goal of the season against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Formerly of Borussia Dortmund, Haaland now plays for Manchester City and has been tipped to reach 1000 career goals by ex-Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole.

Haaland’s impressive performance in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Etihad Stadium included scoring one goal and setting up another.

He now holds the record for the most goals in a single season in all competitions from a Premier League player, surpassing Ruud van Nistelrooy’s previous record of 44 goals.

Despite being compared to football legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, neither of whom have scored 1000 goals, Haaland’s potential seems limitless.

He has already scored 200 club goals for various teams and 21 in 23 for the Norwegian national team.

Haaland is just five goals away from breaking the record for the most goals in a Premier League season, currently held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.

With nine games left to play, Haaland’s future in football looks bright.
