The Nigerian Army (NA) is the largest of the three branches of the Nigerian Military with over 100,000 personnel. NA is the land branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces and one of the strongest in Africa.

The NA symbol is a Crest with a Red Color which means enemy forces and their activities, At the center is a golden star & an eagle which represent strength of soldiers. Motto of Nigerian Army is Victory is from God alone.
Ranks in Nigerian Army is also of two categories, commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers.

There are 11 ranks in this category of the Nigerian Army. They are listed below in Ascending order of Seniority.
- Second Lieutenant.
- Lieutenant Colonel.
- Brigadier General (1 Star General).
- Major General (2 Star General).
- Lieutenant General (3 Star General).
- General (4 Star General).
- Field Marshal (5 Star General): This is the highest ranking in the Nigerian Army.
Ranks in the Nigerian Army – Non-Commissioned Officers.
NA has 8 ranks for the non commissioned officers. Below is their list in Ascending order of seniority.
- Staff Sergeant.
- Warrant Officer Class II.
- Warrant Officer Class I.
