Bola Tinubu, the recently elected Nigerian President, has initiated a plan for reconciliation with his defeated opponents.
His three main competitors complained about discrepancies in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s management of the election.
However, Tinubu still won with 8,794,726 votes while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party came second with 6,984,520 and Peter Obi of the Labour Party third with 6,101,533 votes.
To ensure peace after the election Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has formed a committee to meet with aggrieved rivals on behalf of Tinubu.
The president-elect himself has appealed to these contestants to work together so that Nigeria can become a better place for all its citizens.
