Tottenham Hotspur faced Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day at the City Ground in gameweek 18 of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Spurs had an early opportunity in the first five minutes, but Son’s tame shot was easily saved leaving Johnson who was in a good position, visibly frustrated.

Forest nearly took the lead just past ten minutes when Callum Hudson-Odoi was given too much space but he fired wide.

In the 28th minute, Forest capitalized on a Spurs mistake as Morgan Gibbs-White sent a through ball to Anthony Elanga, who slotted home past Forster for a 1-0 lead.

Spurs struggled to respond and went into halftime trailing.

In the second half, Forster saved a Gibbs-White effort, but Spurs’ attack was blunt.

Johnson had a superb chance but was denied by Matz Sels.

Milenkovic should have doubled Forest’s lead but he missed a close-range header.

Ange Postecoglou made several substitutions, bringing on Maddison, Bergvall, Werner, Porro, and Bissouma, but Spurs struggled to break down Forest’s defense.

The match ended with Spurs unable to find an equalizer, losing 1-0.
