The OnePlus Nord is a product that has been making a lot of waves ever since its announcement on July 21 and here is its specs and price in Nigeria.
But what’s so special about the phone? Why are so many people talking about the product?
These are the kind of questions I intend answering with this article.
The OnePlus is a brand primarily known for producing premium smartphones at affordable prices.
In other words, they’re behind some of the best Android devices in the world.
Which is why they are called flagships killer. They know where to cut cost such as wireless charging, IP rating and where to upscale and use the best material in the market such as SoC and camera.
For those of you who aren’t aware, phones created under this brand often compete flawlessly with the likes of Samsung and Apple.
But, not only are OnePlus phones impressive, they also happen to be affordable at least until they announced the OnePlus 8 and its Pro earlier this year which brought their price point to the level of Samsung and iPhone flagships.
On July 21, the company behind this brand made an announcement and show the Nord to the entire world.
This device is to appeal to the market they already captured and to continue making their flagships that will compete with the big players in the market.
The device would be typically impressive, but would sell at a much cheaper price, compared to the prices at which OnePlus 8 phones sell for.
The phone did not feature one of the most impressive chipsets available out there.
But still, the processor that power the device is epic. And it’s because of these things people are so excited about the product.
People can’t just wait to lay their hands on a phone as good as a typical OnePlus, but much affordable.
And if you feel you might also love to get this product, you should spend the next few minutes consuming this rest of this content.
For the rest of this content, I’d be providing important information potential users of this phone would like to know.
I’d start by providing a specs and features summary of the phone. Afterwards, I’d delve into a full review of the product.

OnePlus Nord Price in Nigeria
The price of Nord from OnePlus is $450 US Dollars which is 180,000 Naira, using N400 as the equivalent for a dollar. You can buy it on Jumia.
OnePlus is one of the top smartphone brands in the world: the company never got to that position by selling ugly products.
And good enough, the company hasn’t failed to live up to that expectation, with the Nord. The Nord is as cool as a typical OnePlus phone.
The phone comes in a thoughtful dimension. I further find it interestingly slim, and the camera placement [both front and rear], are one of the most lovely I’ve seen.
In terms of colour, you wouldn’t also be disappointed. The product is available in two premium colours, namely blue marble and gray onyx.
Whether you’re a fan of simple colours or the kind who loves fancy colours, you wouldn’t have any problem with either of the two colours.
Another thing I appreciate about the product is that despite how loaded it is, it weighs just 184 grams.
It is also worthwhile stating that both the front and the rear side of the phone are protected with Gorilla Glass 5, although a plastic material is used as the phone’s frame.
The computing hardware of the Nord is definitely not as impressive as those of typical OnePlus devices, but still, its computing hardware can not be underestimated.
The smartphone is championed by the Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G. The chipset is a 7 nm process chipset, which means it is highly power-efficient, despite how powerful it is.
Its processor is an octa-core processor, with a 2.40 GHz core, a 2.20 GHz core, and six 1.80 GHz cores. The 2.40 GHz core is the main core of the phone, which means you can expect this device to be highly responsive.
While an octa-core processor is responsible for the generic computing tasks of the phone, the graphics-related tasks of the phone are handled by the Adreno 620.
The Adreno 620 is not a newcomer in the mobile industry, it is rather one of the most popular GPUs out there. And its excellent at doing what it was designed for, is one of the major reasons behind its success.
All builds of Nord aren’t the same. Builds of the phone may differ in terms of RAM. We have builds coming with 6 GB of RAM.
We have those having 8 GB of RAM. And we have those powered by 12 GB of RAM. For the kind of users this phone is designed for, 6 GB of RAM should be manageable.
However, if you have some extra cash, you should consider opting-in for an 8 GB RAM build. As for people who have a lot of cash to spare, nothing stops you from considering a 12 GB RAM build.
The display of the device is a 6.44-inch display. At this present moment, a display of this size is very okay, so OnePlus hasn’t disappointed in this aspect.
Rather than disappointing, the manufacturer impressed us by equipping the phone with a Fluid AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. A normal AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is what we ordinarily expected from the phone.
The display type and size are however not the only nice things about the phone. The phone’s display refresh rate is another thing I should inform you about.
Most mid-range phones, as well as many high-end smartphones, come with displays not having refresh rates higher than 60 GHz.
As a result, when playing certain games, the experiences aren’t as great as they could be. But with the Nord’s display having a refresh rate of 90 Hz, expect the phone to perform more impressively when playing certain games on it.
As regard pixel density, you absolutely have nothing to worry about. The phone has a pixel density of about 408 PPI.
The OS the Nord runs is the Oxygen OS 10. The Oxygen OS 10 is a customized version of the Android 10 OS. A lot of custom Android operating systems suck, but the Oxygen OS 10 is never one of them.
In fact, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if you love it better than the standard Android 10.
For those who dislike custom Androids because they’re often bloated and contain undesirable software, you wouldn’t have to worry about such things.
The Oxygen OS 10 is truly a premium product, so be assured you wouldn’t be having this kind of problems with it.
When buying a build, RAM size is not the only thing you’d have to decide about.
Another thing you’d have to decide about, is how much storage space you’d like your build to have.
Note that this phone doesn’t come with support for micro SD cards. So when buying the phone, you have to be sure about whatever type of build you’re choosing.
We have builds that come with 64 GB of storage. We have those coming with 128 GB of storage. We further have some having as much as 256 GB of storage.
However, understand that the storage sizes we have mentioned are related to the RAM sizes mentioned above.
That is, the builds coming with 6 GB of RAM are also those having 64 GB of internal storage, those coming with 8 GB of RAM are those coming with 128 GB of internal storage, while the ones having 12 GB of RAM are powered by internal storage devices having a capacity of 256 GB.
It follows a trend we’re starting to see: it features a total of four rear cameras.
But while many manufacturers senselessly position the rear cameras of their phones, OnePlus nicely positioned those of the Nord.
The main rear camera of this phone is the 48 MP camera. The camera is supported by an 8 MP camera with assists with taking ultra-wide pictures.
The 5 MP camera assists with depth, while the 2 MP camera is meant for macro pictures.
However, these supporting cameras aren’t the only enhancements the 48 MP camera has. The camera also has a bunch of other enhancements.
The front of the Nord features two cameras. Not only are these cameras powerful and highly-enhanced, their positioning is also impressive.
Main front camera is the 32 MP camera, while the second front camera, which is the 8 MP camera, assists with ultra-wideness.
As stated earlier, OnePlus is a brand known for creating impressive products that are as affordable as the Nord but cutting cost in some areas until the OnePlus 8.
If you love OnePlus devices, but can’t afford spending too much on their latest flagships, then the Nord is an offer you should grab, as soon as it becomes available for sales.
For those who wonder if the device is a 5G product, the answer is yes.
However, we aren’t sure if the phone would be compatible with the 5G networks of all mobile network operators in the country, once 5G becomes a thing in this country.
So, what do you think of the OnePlus Nord and its price in Nigeria? Let me know in the comment box.
