Victor Osimhen, the striker for Napoli, has dismissed rumors of leaving the club after scoring the Scudetto-winning goal against Udinese on Thursday night.
Osimhen made history by becoming the highest-scoring African player in a single season in Serie A, breaking Samuel Eto’o’s record with his 52nd-minute strike that leveled the two sides.
Despite catching the eye of big clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, Osimhen stated that he is focused on enjoying the historic moment with the fans and not thinking about his future.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Osimhen said he ‘couldn’t wait’ to get back to Naples and enjoy the Scudetto with the fans. ‘I’m thrilled with this victory,’ Osimhen said.
‘I scored the Scudetto goal, it’s true, but anyone else could have scored it. ‘I feel like a leader and I never give up. Future? Now I want to enjoy this historic moment, this is not the time to think about my future.’
He praised his manager, Spalletti, for his role in his career and for motivating the team to win the title.
Osimhen is thrilled with the victory and can’t wait to return to Naples to celebrate with the fans.
