The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied rumors that the state’s governor, Ademola Adeleke, plans to defect from their party to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The PDP called the rumors “fallacious and cheap lies,” insisting that they originated from the APC as a distraction tactic.
Caretaker Chairman Dr. Akindele Adekunle issued a statement on behalf of the party, urging voters in Osun State to disregard the rumors and vote for PDP candidates in the House of Assembly elections.
Adekunle emphasized Governor Adeleke’s commitment to his party, citing their impressive victory in the Presidential and National Assembly elections held just days prior.
With three members currently in the House of Assembly compared to 23 belonging to APC, there is apprehension regarding PDP’s fate in the upcoming March 11th election.
Nonetheless, Akindele expressed confidence that his party will repeat its feat by winning all twenty-six assembly seats in Osun State once again come election day.
