The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) is holding an urgent meeting today in Abuja to address the ongoing leadership crisis, especially the battle for the National Secretary position.
The meeting, scheduled for 11 a.m. at Transcorp Hilton, is expected to bring together key party figures to review updates from a committee led by former Minister Tanimu Turaki.
An anonymous source revealed that the BoT chose the Hilton over the party’s usual headquarters due to security concerns following recent disruptions.
Tensions are high between rival camps backing Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye, both of whom are claiming the National Secretary role.
The meeting will also cover recent court rulings, including a decision allowing Anyanwu to stay in his position until the Supreme Court makes a final decision.
Although Anyanwu and Ude-Okoye both confirmed the meeting, neither was invited.
The BoT had previously told them to stay out of the discussions until the disputes over the position are fully resolved, and both have agreed to comply.
