Former PDP Legal Adviser Mark Jacob says Nyesom Wike can’t keep pulling strings in the party while staying away from the table — www.naijnaira.com reports.

Speaking on Channels TV, Jacob didn’t hold back, questioning how Wike aims to sway party direction without showing up to a single NEC meeting in over a year.

He insisted the days of remote control leadership are over, stressing, “There is no way Wike can sit in the comfort of his bedroom and dictate what happens in the PDP.”

Wike, once Rivers State Governor, now serves under President Tinubu in the APC-led government — a role Jacob believes disqualifies him from influencing PDP affairs.

According to Jacob, Wike hasn’t earned a seat at the table if he won’t participate. “Personally, I’ve attended several NEC meetings. He hasn’t shown up to even one,” he pointed out.

He said Wike’s scattered influence doesn’t equate to actual party control, noting that support in bits and pieces means little without active involvement.

Jacob urged him to face the party directly. “Come out, attend meetings, and present your views. That’s how democracy works,” he said.

Wike’s choice to back the All Progressives Congress during the 2023 elections, despite being a PDP member, remains a sore point.

Jacob added, “Wike can have his views, but forcing others to follow without dialogue or presence? That’s not going to fly in this party.”
