On Christmas Day in Lagos, tragedy struck when an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) allegedly shot and killed Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem, a lawyer and member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
The shooting occurred near the Ajah bridge and police station as Mrs. Raheem and her family were returning from church services.
The ASP as well as two other officers have since been arrested by authorities.
It was reported that the trio were extorting drivers on the highway, and had asked that Mr. Raheem park his vehicle, although he had slowed down to do so properly behind another car at the scene.
