Chelsea’s decision to sack manager Graham Potter is expected to come at a high cost.
Potter, who had a five-year contract worth £12 million per year, had already served half a year before his termination.
To buy out the remainder of his contract, Chelsea is estimated to pay close to £50 million.
Additionally, Potter brought some backroom staff members with him, and Chelsea will likely have to pay them off as well, bringing the total expense to well over £60 million.
This decision was made after the team’s 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa, and Potter had won 12, drawn 8, and lost 10 of the 31 games he managed for the Premier League giants.
