Reports have emerged that Manchester United could be demolished and replaced with a new stadium if Qatari investors complete a takeover of the club.
Last year, the Glazers announced they were considering selling the club and fans are already excited about the potential outside investment.
The Daily Mail suggests that if Qatar Sports Investment manages to purchase Manchester United, there could be more than £2 billion invested in the club, potentially leading to them “knocking down and building a new state-of-the-art facility”.
With their rivals investing heavily in their grounds lately, it could be time for Manchester United to do the same and create an entirely new venue or else maintain Old Trafford’s iconic status by undertaking major redevelopment works.
