President Bola Tinubu has sent a second batch of ministerial nominees to the Senate, completing the list for the remaining eleven states that have not yet been allocated a ministerial slot.

The Senate invoked its Order 12(i) to allow former Speaker Femi Gbajiabiamila to present the list.

Prior to Gbajiabiamila’s entrance, a nominee from Kwara, Lateef Fagbemi, was being screened by the Senators.

This is the third day of the screening process, with five nominees listed for today: Dele Alake (Ekiti), Muhammad Idris (Niger), Professor Ali Pate Bauchi, Doris Anite Uzoka (Imo), and Lateef Fagbemi SAN (Kwara).

During his screening, Dele Alake emphasized the need to strengthen the regulation of social media to curb fake and inaccurate information.

He also urged victims of libel and defamation to apply the full weight of the law on culprits.

Muhammad Idris from Niger State has also been screened, while Fagbemi is currently being questioned by the Senators.
