Former US President Donald Trump made a bold claim during his campaign for re-election, stating that he could end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours if he were to be elected again.
Trump claimed that he would use his negotiating skills to capitalize on the strengths and weaknesses of the two leaders, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, and put an end to the conflict.
He emphasized that his priority was to stop the loss of life on both sides.
However, Trump’s approach was criticized by some who felt that it was not in line with the established Republican policy of supporting Ukraine.
Trump also declined to comment on whether he believed Putin was a war criminal, stating that such accusations would make it harder to negotiate a settlement.
Despite facing criminal charges and ongoing investigations, Trump remains a frontrunner for the Republican Party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential election.
