Rivers Opposition under Attack APC Demands Redeployment of CP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has urged for the redeployment of the Commissioner of Police in the State, Okon Effiong Okon.

This follows numerous degrading assaults experienced by opposition political parties and their candidates.

Most recently, a suspected political attack was conducted at the APC governorship campaign rally which occurred less than 24 hours after Senator Magnus Ngei Abe’s, Social Democratic Party candidate, train was also attacked near Akinima in Ahoada-West.

The APC Governorship Campaign Council spokesman, Sogbeye Eli, released an informative statement addressing the matter directly to both the Inspector-General of Police and National Security Adviser.

He emphasized that they must live up to their commitment to letting opposition political parties carry out unrestricted campaign activities during 2023’s upcoming general elections since it’s essential to maintaining peace and quiet in places such as Rivers which have become volatile due to unjust leadership.
