Speaking on the departure of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Labour Party, Rivers State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike revealed that Sule Lamido had addressed Obi in a village far from Dutse the capital, informing him that the north would produce the next president and this prompted his decision to leave PDP.

Governor Wike further stated his support for having a southern president for Nigeria and emphasised that he offered Obi all logistics such as vehicles and funds for stadium bookings, yet some other persons applied to oppose him.

He also commented on how Igbos had long sought to produce Nigeria’s next president but were unsuccessful as some sabotaged their efforts during the last presidential election.
