Cristiano Ronaldo’s Total Career Goals At Clubs & Country

Updated

Published By

Ronaldo’s hunger for goals is second to none, to put that in perspective the Portuguese and goals go hand in hand but the question is how many has he scored throughout his entire career?

The dream of every goal-driven, dedicated, and passionate professional footballer is to achieve success while playing at the highest level, in that regard it is safe to say Cristiano Ronaldo is one of those dreamers who have to win everything needed to be won in football.

Over the course of the Portuguese’s 20-year career at the highest level, Ronaldo has broken records wherever he goes even in his old age.

While the attacker is a proper benchmark for every young footballer who aspires to make it big at the highest level, it must be said that the Al-Nassr star has paid his dues and he remains one of the greatest players to ever laced a cleat.

Ronaldo’s Goals & Formative Year At Sporting CP (5)

While Ronaldo will primarily be known for his amazing stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, he also shone playing for Sporting CP in Portugal even though it was just one season during his formative years.

When he burst onto the scene nobody knew the 17-year-old winger who made his debut for Sporting in 2002, would go on to become one of the greatest players of all time.

The Portuguese star only spent one season playing at the senior level for Sporting without being much of a goal-poacher or a superstar, yet everyone from the team and the great Sir Alex Ferguson who eventually signed him for Manchester United could see his talent.

Ronaldo only registered (5 goals) in (31 games) before he left Sporting CP for Manchester United in 2003 for £12.24 million, a record transfer fee paid for a teenager at that time.

Ronaldo’s Goals For Manchester United (145)

When Ronaldo joined Manchester United in 2003 as an 18-year prospect, he wasn’t really known for his goal-scoring skills but many could testify to his flair and dribbling skills.

As time goes by, Ronaldo rapidly became the deadly goal-poacher we all know today, becoming United’s top-scorer in the last three seasons of his first spell at Old Trafford winning the Ballon d’Or in 2008 as a result of his goal-scoring exploit.

He left Old Trafford for Santiago Bernabeu in 2009 as the most expensive player in football then, but twelve years later the Portuguese came back as a veteran towards the end of his prime.

While it was evident that he was gradually approaching his prime, Ronaldo still finished the season as United’s top-scorer with (24) goals in the 2021-22 campaign and (3) goals in 2022-23.

Ronaldo left Old Trafford in an acrimonious manner, however, it must be said that the Portuguese is certainly an inspiration to many fans and some of the academy players who sees him as their idol having scored a total of (145) goals in (346) appearances for United.

Ronaldo’s Goals For Real Madrid (450)

One of the iconic football clubs in the history of the game Real Madrid have never shield-away from making big money signings in the transfer market, as such in the summer of 2009 Los Blancos made Ronaldo the most-expensive signing in Europe when they paid Manchester United £80 million.

Throughout his spell at the Santiago Bernabeu Ronaldo literally won it all as a team player and individually.

He won four Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, two Club World Cups, two LaLiga titles, two Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cup titles in his nine-year stint at Real Madrid.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored a total of 450 goals and provided 131 assists for Los Blancos in 438 games throughout his nine-year stay with them.

Ronaldo’s Goals For Juventus (101)

After an amazing nine-year stint with Real Madrid, Ronaldo’s move to Juventus in 2018 came as a shock to many. However, what matters most was that he didn’t disappoint in replicating the kind of performances he displayed at Real Madrid.

Though his move to Juventus didn’t particularly win the Old Lady Europe’s most coveted trophy (Champions League) he did score a lot of goals for the Italian giant.

In his second season in the shirt of Juventus, Ronaldo became the second fastest player to reach 50 goals in Serie A and also overtook his compatriot Rui Costa to become the highest-scoring Portuguese in the history of the competition.

In his third season, he achieved the unthinkable by reaching a century of goals and finished as the league top-scorer with 29 goals.

Ronaldo’s Goals For Al Nassr (8)

The Portuguese superstar completed his move to the Saudi Arabia outfit on a free transfer, having left Manchester United in November in an acrimonious manner.

Ronaldo’s basic salary after signing a deal until 2025 is reported to be worth a grand total of £177 million per year.

Ronaldo’s Goals For Portugal (118)

While replicating club form can be tough for some players, Ronaldo’s case can be said to be an exception with the manner he transitioned smoothly between playing for his clubs and Portugal.

Though the superstar debut for Portugal didn’t come with a goal, he has since gone on to become a goal-machine for ‘A Selecao’ becoming the highest goal-scorer and player with the most goals in international football.

His time with the national team wasn’t about his record goal-scoring alone, he also helped the team win their first European title in 2016 and the Nations League in 2019.

With the 2024 Euros qualifier knocking on the door, Ronaldo will hope to make it into the squad that will prosecute the games with the new manager in town after Fernando Santos left the managerial position.
