Mohamed Salah has confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, dropping the news after a standout performance in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United.
“Honestly, I had a good summer. I had a long time to stay with myself, try to think positive because as you know it’s my last year at the club. I just want to enjoy it, I don’t want to think about it but I feel free to play football, we will see next year,” he said.
The announcement has sparked reactions from fans, with many expressing sadness over the potential loss of one of the Premier League‘s greatest players.
Some fans noted the urgency for Liverpool to offer him a new contract to avoid losing him for free, especially after the club reportedly turned down a massive offer from Saudi Arabia last year.
Salah, who will be 33 at the start of next season, is Liverpool’s highest earner and would likely seek another lucrative deal.
However, if no new contract is agreed upon, Liverpool faces the risk of losing their star player without a transfer fee.
