The Samsung Galaxy M31s is not the same phone as the Galaxy M31. The M31 was announced in February, while the M31s was announced just some days ago and this write up is about its price in Nigeria and features.
It is unclear why Samsung decided to release the M31s, as there is hardly any difference between the two phones — the only major difference between them, is their displays.
While the M31 comes with a 6.40-inch display, the M31s comes with a display of 6.50 inches.
As for people who are yet to see either the M31 or the M31s, let me state that these products are impressive. And it’s very unlikely you’d regret buying them.
This article isn’t meant to just state if the M31 and the M31s are similar or not. It’s actually meant to review the M31s.

Samsung Galaxy M31s Price in Nigeria
The price of Galaxy M31s from Samsung is €230 which is 105,500 Naira as the current conversions rate of Euro to Naira is about €1 for N457.
Starting from the aspect of design, the Galaxy M31s is a very nice phone.
Samsung is well-known to produce phones with nice designs, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the design is as cool as it is.
For those who have seen the design of the M31, you should understand that their designs are a little different.
While the M31 features a water-drop front camera design, the M31s features a centered punch-hole front camera design.
As regards the thickness of the M31s, the phone is as slim as most other phones in its category.
However, this isn’t meant to mean the phone is annoyingly thick. The mass of the product is also slightly higher than those of most products in its category.
Well, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering the fact that the phone is with cased with higher quality materials, compared to most products in its category.
When buying a build of the phone, there are two colours you can choose between.
You can either opt-in for a build coming in blue, or you can opt-in for a build coming in black.
Guys should feel free to opt-in for either blue or black, but for ladies, the black seems to be more suitable.
The computing hardware featured in the Galaxy M31s meets up to expectations. The chipset which powers the phone is a chipset called the Samsung Exynos 7 Octa 9611.
This chipset is not very popular, but during the tests we subjected it to, it performed impressively.
In fact, I might consider it better than most other chipsets that fall in its category, even though it is not as power-efficient as many of them.
The Samsung Exynos 7 Octa 9611 features an octa-core processor. Four of these cores can’t be clocked higher than 1.70 GHz, while the other four can be clocked at speeds as high as 2.30 GHz.
As for the graphics processing of the chipset, the popular Mali-G72 MP3 is what handles the graphics processing tasks.
This GPU is a thing very popular among impressive mid-range and high-end phones, so you also have nothing to worry about in this aspect.
When buying a build of the M31s, colour is not the only thing you might have to decide on. Another thing you might to decide on, is how much RAM you want your build to feature.
You can decide on whether you want 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. 6 GB of RAM is enough for most people, even users of high-end phones.
However, if you have more cash to spare, nothing stops you from considering an 8 GB RAM build.
But understand that the 6 GB RAM builds are the ones selling for €230, the 8 GB RAM builds sell at a higher price.
Samsung phones have some of the best displays among all smartphones. In fact, it’s safe to consider the company one of the leading companies, when it comes to display. And Samsung didn’t fail to impress us, in terms of the display of the M31s.
The display featured by the M31s is an AMOLED display. The AMOLED display is 6.50 inches in size and has support for accurately displaying over 16 million colours.
As for the display’s resolution, it is 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. This resolution leaves the phone’s display with a pixel density of about 405 pixels per inch.
A pixel density this high is no joke. And considering the fact that the phone’s display is an AMOLED display, you are guaranteed to be blown away by the graphics of the phone.
As you would all expect, the Galaxy M31s runs the Android 10 OS. This is the OS good 2020 phones run, so it is expected of the phone to be powered by the Android 10.
One thing you should however keep in mind is the fact that the OS the M31s runs, is not a stock Android.
Its OS is rather a custom version. The custom version of the OS this phone runs, to some people, is nicer.
But regardless of whether you like it better than the stock Android 10 or not, you wouldn’t consider this custom OS a piece of crap.
It is also worthwhile stating that when the stable version of the Android 11 gets released, the M31s is guaranteed to get an OS upgrade.
It is uncertain how soon the phone would get the OS upgrade, but what we’re certain of, is that the OS upgrade would be available just a few months after the Android 11 official release.
The amount of storage space the Galaxy M31s comes with, is 128 GB. A storage of this size is quite okay for the kind of users this phone was designed for.
In fact, only a few users of this phone would feel a strong need for storage expansion.
However, even though only a few people would feel the need for storage expansion, the phone has support for micro SD card, unlike some other Samsung devices.
You should also keep in mind that the total amount of storage which would be available for your own use, would be less than 128 GB.
The OS of the phone and its pre-installed apps would use some of this 128 GB. So expect only about 116 GB to be available for your own use.
The Galaxy M31s is a very impressive phone, in terms of rear camera. The main rear camera of the phone is a 64 MP camera. Being more elaborate, this 64 MP camera is the Sony IMX682 Exmor RS.
The sensor is one of the best 64 MP cameras we have out there. And as you would expect, it is loaded with a lot of enhancements.
Among its enhancements, is a 12 MP camera which assists with taking wide pictures. The Sony IMX682 Exmor RS has also got the support of a 5 MP camera which assists with depth.
There is further another 5 MP camera which comes into play, when you’d like to take macro pictures.
The rear cameras of the M31s are not the only impressive thing about the rear side of the phone. The arrangement of these rear cameras is also a thing you’d appreciate about the phone.
The rear side of the M31s is not the only featuring epic cameras, the front of the phone also features an amazing camera.
This front camera is the Sony IMX616. The camera has a resolution of about 32 MP and it is heavy enhanced.
In other words, the Sony IMX616 is much better than many other 32 MP cameras we see around.
If the Galaxy M31s is a phone you can afford, you should feel free to consider it, as there’s hardly anything you might regret about it.
You should also keep in mind that the present state of the phone is still presale [as of August 6], even though some of us have been able to see what the phone is like.
So if you make an order for the phone, it might take a while before you get it.
For those who wonder if the phone is a 5G phone, the phone isn’t. In other words, if you plan using your next phone for up to 3 years, then you might have to consider some other product.
One last thing I’d like to state is that the Galaxy M31s may alternatively be called the SM-M317F.
So, it’s your turn guys. What do you think of the Samsung galaxy m31s, do you think the features it packed is what the asking price in Nigeria? Let me know.
