In a recent announcement, Senate President Godswill Akpabio revealed the new principal officers of the majority party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the upper legislative chamber.

Opeyemi Bamidele, senator representing Ekiti central, has been appointed as the majority leader, while David Umahi, senator representing Ebonyi south, will serve as the deputy majority leader.

Additionally, Ali Ndume, senator representing Borno south, has been named as the chief whip of the senate, with Lola Ashiru, senator representing Kwara south, appointed as the deputy chief whip.
