The Senate has announced that it will postpone its annual vacation in order to screen the ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu.

According to reports, the list of nominees is expected to be received from the presidency early next week.

In order to ensure a thorough screening process, the Senate is willing to have daily sittings and extend the start of their recess by one week if necessary.

Yemi Adaramodu, the chairman of the Senate committee on media and publicity, stated that there is still ample time to consider the President’s request and that the National Assembly will do the right thing.

He said: “There is still ample time to present and screen ministerial nominees.”

President Tinubu has reportedly sent the list of nominees to both the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for screening.
