Tecno Pouvoir 4 Price in Nigeria

At a price of $165 [N64,350: @ N390 / dollar] the Pouvoir 4 from Tecno is one of the best mid range phones out there from transsion holdings.

Pouvoir 4, when it comes to design, is a pretty good phone.

But I feel Tecno could have done a better job in this aspect. To most people, the design of its direct predecessor is one of the most impressive designs Tecno has ever created.

The top-notch design is highly loved by people. People furthermore appreciate the colours in which the phone came in: gold, black, and blue.

So to put in simpler words, we all expected Tecno to use the same design for the Pouvoir 4.

But unfortunately, the company decided to abandon the incredible Pouvoir 3 design for an inferior one.

The Pouvoir 4 comes with a water-drop design, a thing most people don’t love as much as the top-notch design. The Pouvoir 4 furthermore comes in colours which are not as cool as those of the Pouvoir 3.

It is unclear why the company abandoned an impressive design for an inferior one, but we just hope Tecno corrects that mistake with the Pouvoir 5.

When it comes to dimension, these two phones are also vastly different. The Pouvoir 4 happens to be a lot longer than it’s predecessor: thanks to the 7-inch display of the phone.

However, with a dimension 174.9 × 79.6 × 9.2 mm [ 6.89 x 3.13 x 0.36 inch ], the phone wouldn’t be too long for your pockets. Its width also shows that it wouldn’t be too wide for your pockets.

But the only issue is with the thickness, the phone is a little thick, and not everyone would be happy with that.

When it comes to the phone’s mass, you’d have no problem with the phone, as it happens to be quite light.

Processing Power

In terms of computing power, the Pouvoir 4 is far more impressive than the Pouvoir 3. In other words, this aspect is nothing you have to worry about.

The phone features a quad-core processor, but the processor cores are rated at 2.00 GHz, compared to the 1.30 GHz of the predecessor.

So if you’ve been experiencing some lag, when playing games on the Pouvoir 3, upgrading to the Pouvoir 4 would guarantee an end to such a problem. But that’s still not the best part.

Another impressive thing about the Pouvoir 4 is that despite it being powerful than the processor of the Pouvoir 3, it happens to consume a lesser amount of power.

In the aspect of RAM, everyone would also find the Pouvoir 4 to be more impressive. The phone comes with 3 GB of RAM.

A 3 GB RAM is truly not the most impressive RAM size we can expect from a mid-range phone, but come on, this is much better than the 2 GB of its predecessor.

And if you’re the kind who does a lot of multitasking with your phone, you are guaranteed to enjoy the Pouvoir 4 better.

The PowerVR GE8320 GPU is claimed to be the GPU featured by the Pouvoir 4. This graphics processor is quite good at what it was designed for.

And as you would expect, it is more powerful than the PowerVR GE81000 of the Pouvoir 3. In short, the aspect of graphics processing is also nothing you’d have to worry about.

The Pouvoir 4 saw massive improvements in the aspect of the display. The phone comes with a 7.00-inch display, compared to the 6.20-inch of the Pouvoir 3.

And for those who have ever used a 7.00-inch tablet, you shouldn’t understand that the display of the Pouvoir 4 isn’t like that of a tablet.

While the display of a tablet would be somewhat wide, the display of the Pouvoir 4 is long.

In other words, if you plan getting a tablet, then you shouldn’t understand that the display of the Pouvoir 4 is not like that of a typical tablet.

The display of the phone is of course an in-plane switching LCD display. And this display is stated to have a resolution of 720 x 1,640 pixels.

In other words, the display of the phone comes with a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch.

A pixel density of 256 ppi is still impressive, even though it’s a little inferior to the 268 ppi of the Pouvoir 3.

The display of Pouvoir 4 furthermore leaves the phone with about 91 percent screen to body ration.

So when looking at the upright surface of the phone, the display is almost everything you’d be seeing.

Operating System

The operating system of the two phones would be another reason to upgrade from the Pouvoir 3 to the Pouvoir 4.

The Tecno Pouvoir 3 was released in June 2019, and instead of equipping the phone with the Android 9.0 operating system, Tecno refused to. In other words, the phone features the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.

However, when it comes to the Pouvoir 4, the device is powered by a custom Android 10 operating system.

There are many features and design improvements Google has made to the Android OS, since its Android 8.1 release.

And if you have enough money for the Pouvoir 4, you should consider upgrading to this device, to see all the new Android features.

When it comes to storage, there’s hardly any difference between this phone and its predecessor.

The Pouvoir 4 comes with 32 GB of internal storage, which is the same storage space featured by the Pouvoir 3. The storage devices of the two phones furthermore happen to be eMMC 5.1 storage devices.

And if you find the internal storage to be inadequate, there is room for storage expansion, with the help of a micro SD card. However, only micro SD cards not having 128 GB of storage can be used with the phone.

As for the aspect of the cameras, not everyone would be pleased, as the Pouvoir 4 comes with a less powerful selfie camera.

Its selfie camera is an 8 MP camera, compared to the 13 MP selfie camera of the Pouvoir 3.

But even though fans aren’t happy with such a decision, the company can justify it.

Pouvoir 4 saw massive improvements in the aspect of processor, RAM, display, OS, etc.

And if the same selfie camera or a better selfie camera gets used for the Pouvoir 4, this would mean the phone would be excessively more expensive than the Pouvoir 3.

And I’m pretty sure that’s not a thing you would like. And hopefully, you would be willing to forgive the company for that, considering the fact that the Pouvoir 4 comes with a 6,000 mAh battery.

Moving on to the rear cameras of the phone, Pouvoir 4 also comes with four rear cameras.

A 13 MP camera serves as the main rear camera, while a 5 MP camera and two 2 MP cameras support the main rear cameras.

With the help of this set of rear cameras, mind-blowing pictures and videos can be taken with the phone.

Video having as high as 1,080p@30 frames per second, can be taken with the help of these rear cameras.

Final Note

The Pouvoir 4 is generally a cool phone considering the specs it packed and the price Tecno decides to sell it in Nigeria.

And if you don’t mind the mistake the company made in this aspect of design, nothing should stop you from getting the phone.

And with the phone selling for $165, I consider it a reasonably-priced phone.
