YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki Steps Down After Nine Years

After nine years of being in office as YouTube’s CEO, Susan Wojcicki has announced her resignation.

Having started with Google as its 16th employee back in 1999 and now calling it quits, Wojcicki announced in a statement that it is time for her to completely shift focus and devote more time to her family, health and personal projects she is passionate about.

The current head of Product for YouTube, Neal Mohan, will be taking her place.

Wojcicki said that she knows Mohan well from having worked with him since 2007 when he joined Google via Doubleclik acquisition.

She is confident in his abilities as he has proven himself to be a great leader with a precise product sense, apart from leading the trust and safety team at YouTube.
