Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

According to Gareth Southgate, Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood could play for England again, but he won’t feature at the European Championships.

The one-cap England international has not featured internationally since his debut in the UEFA Nations League against Iceland in September 2020. Southgate stated, “It would be a big distraction for the team at this moment in time.”

Legal Issues and Loan Spell

In early 2023, Greenwood faced charges relating to attempted rape and assault, but the case against him was dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service due to the withdrawal of key witnesses.

As a result, Greenwood spent this season on loan in La Liga with Getafe after his return to Old Trafford was scrapped due to severe backlash.

He has performed well for the Spanish outfit, contributing eight goals and five assists in 27 appearances across all competitions this season.

Future Prospects and Transfer Rumors

Although Greenwood was not included in Southgate’s recent England squad, the door is not completely closed on his international career.

Southgate mentioned that allowing Greenwood to continue his career abroad has been a good move, but he would need more details before considering him as an option for future selections.

Greenwood’s impressive form has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, with FC Barcelona being heavily linked.

However, journalist Ben Jacobs believes a summer sale is more likely than a return to Manchester United.

Jacobs stated that the club’s decision regarding Greenwood will involve speaking to various stakeholders and determining the market value they can achieve.

Given his performances at Getafe, it is expected that Manchester United will be able to secure a beneficial fee for the young talent.
