Avram Glazer is set to make an appearance at Manchester United’s Carabao Cup final match against Newcastle United this Sunday, as his family’s potential sale of the club still hangs in the balance.

The Glazer family has owned Man U since 2005, but they have been subject to increasing pressure from fans and bids have come in from at least two interested parties; Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and Manchester-born billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe with his INEOS group.

Avram Glazer is said to feel emotionally invested in the organization despite all the issues he and his family have faced when it comes to owning it.

However, other members of the Glazer family appear anxious to sell, hoping to make a massive profit off one of the biggest deals in sports history.

Sheikh Jassim announced plans last week to submit a bid for full ownership of Man U before their ‘soft deadline’ ran out and Sir Ratcliffe had made his intentions known earlier on in the process.

Also, American hedge fund Elliott Investment Management has offered potential funding for a £2billion redevelopment at Old Trafford stadium and might be open to allowing the Glazers to retain ownership if they accept.
