This Nigerian Pastor Tried to Fake His Death on Whatsapp – Here’s What Happened
An Ondo State pastor, Paul Oyewole, was recently accused of using fraudulent tactics to avoid repaying a debt of ₦3 million he owed one of his church members.
In Ondo State, a 43-year-old pastor, Paul Oyewole, has been accused of posting his own obituary on WhatsApp in an effort to dodge paying back ₦3 million that he had borrowed from a church member.
The matter came to light when Pastor Oyewole was brought before the Chief Magistrate Court in Ondo Town on charges of fraud and intimidation.
According to the police prosecutor, Akao Moremi, after the pastor had sent a fake bank alert he proceeded to threaten the complainant by stripping himself naked and broadcasting his own obituary on WhatsApp.
He has denied all charges against him and currently remains under bail with two sureties of N1 million each.
