Although he remained an unused substitute, Ghana manager Chris Houghton deemed it too risky to start him.
Partey will return to Arsenal on Tuesday, accompanied by Gunners physio Simon Murphy, where they will assess his condition ahead of their upcoming game against Leeds United.
