Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has decided to turn down the invitation from Ghana to play in the upcoming friendly game against Nigeria. Partey, who has been recovering from an injury, has yet to feature for the Gunners this year.

The 30-year-old suffered a groin injury in November of last year and underwent surgery. Although he was expected to return in early February, he experienced a setback with the same injury.

Partey finally made his comeback in early March during Arsenal’s 6-0 victory against Sheffield United, but he has only played 276 minutes of Premier League football this season.

The Ghanaian national team, known as the Black Stars, had called up Partey for their friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda.

However, it is understood that Partey has decided to excuse himself from national team selection in order to focus on reaching full fitness.

Partey’s decision to decline the invitation is likely a precautionary measure to ensure that he fully recovers from his injury and can contribute effectively to Arsenal’s campaign.

As the midfielder continues to work on his fitness, both the Gunners and Ghana will be eagerly awaiting his return to full form.
