Five governors from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) convened in London, United Kingdom in order to engage All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
This group of governors, known as ‘G5’, proposed that Tinubu offer his support for PDP governor and senatorial candidates for their respective states as part of a negotiated agreement.
The terms of this agreement were discussed on Tuesday, December 27 during the meeting held between Tinubu and the G5 governors.
Five influential governors – collectively known as the G5 – have reportedly sought assurances from political heavyweight, Bola Tinubu, regarding their respective political careers.
The states of Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun, Osun and Rivers were represented in this meeting.
It is also believed that a key agenda was for Tinubu to provide support for Governor Wike’s protégé, Siminalayi Fubara who is running for governor on the PDP ticket; as well as senatorial candidates from Rivers state.
With elections looming closer, the G-5 governors of Oyo, Kogi, Benue, Abia and Enugu are seeking to come to an agreement with former Governor Tinubu over the APC polls.
Makinde and Ortom hope to remain in office for a second term, while Ikpeazu is looking to become Senator from Abia South and Ugwuanyi wants the seat from Enugu North.
A source close to Tinubu reports that negotiations have been stalled by the complicated demands from the governors – who seemingly want both a senatorial and governorship seat in exchange for their support.
However, claims say that Tinubu may not pass an agreement due to time constraints.
The G-5 don’t hold all four aces in this situation though; they themselves might be looking for shelter within Tinubu’s party.
At the heart of talks between the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the Integrity Group is a demand from the G5 Governors for certain concessions within the party.
Despite negotiations not having officially ended, a source in the PDP Governers’ camp has confirmed that agreements have been reached and decisions have been taken, and will be announced by January. The people will soon learn of these decisions.

None of them has the interest of its people at heart, posterity will judge them, Sir Ahmed Bola Tinibu should be careful with there game plan else he falls victim of their pending doom.
