A United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois has recently issued a directive to Chicago State University (CSU) regarding the production of non-privileged documents related to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

These documents are to be provided to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

However, the court has made it clear that it will not take a position on Atiku’s claims regarding the authenticity of these documents, which Tinubu had previously submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the last presidential election.

This decision was delivered on September 30 by Justice Nancy Maldonado. It overruled the objection raised by Tinubu against the earlier order issued on September 29 by Magistrate Jeffrey Gilbert.

The court affirms Gilbert’s ruling, which directed CSU to comply with Atiku’s request made on August 2.

Atiku had requested the release of certain documents related to Tinubu’s academic records from the university.
