Vandals Steal Road Fittings from Newly Inaugurated Second Niger Bridge

Vandals have stolen road fittings from the newly inaugurated Second Niger Bridge, according to sources in the works ministry.

The stolen fitting is an element from the expansion joints of the bridge, and its absence can cause discomfort to motorists.

The incident has left supervising engineers unhappy.

The Second Niger Bridge, which was commissioned by former president Muhammadu Buhari in May 2022, is aimed at easing traffic in the South-East region of Nigeria.

Efforts to reach the ministry spokesperson for official confirmation have been unsuccessful.
