Will Pep Guardiola’s pleas be enough to convince Chelsea owner Todd Boehly not to fire Graham Potter?
Recently, Chelsea has been playing some of their worst football in thirty years, languishing near the bottom of the table and having amassed a terrible goalscoring record over the past few months.
Despite the poor performances, Chairman Todd Boehly has remained resolute in his support for Potter.
The hope is that he will soon be able to see an upturn in form similar to that which Mikel Arteta was able to do at Arsenal last season.
Pep Guardiola, who himself is an admirer of Potter’s work and pathway throughout his career, has urged chairman Todd Boehly to give Graham Potter more time and patience.
He praised the coach’s work with Brighton prior to joining Chelsea, noting that they were a joy to watch and their quality should not be underestimated.
Guardiola admitted he never had this luxury himself while at Barcelona due to Messi being included on the team.
It then rests on both Potter as well as Bholer.
It is up to Graham Potter now to show what he can do, whilst it rests with Bholer whether he maintains his nerve and trusts in his decisions thus far or remove someone who has come highly recommended by one of Europe’s most revered coaches – Pep Guardiola.
