Actor Will Smith has confirmed the official start of production on Bad Boys 4 – the fourth installment of the beloved franchise – via a video featuring his co-star Martin Lawrence.
Posting to Instagram, Smith can be seen at Lawrence’s house while they both make the big announcement and play “Shake Ya Tailfeather”, part of the soundtrack from Bad Boys II.
The first movie, Bad Boys (1995), was followed by a sequel in 2003 and a third movie, Bad Boys for Life (2020).
Chris Brenner is writing the script for this fourth tour de force, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with Jerry Brukheimer producing along with Will Smith and Douglas Belgrad – plus executive producers Chad Oman, Martin Lawrence, Jon Mone, Barry Waldman and Mike Stenson.
This comes just 1 year after an onstage altercation happened between Smith and Oscars host Chris Rock at an awards ceremony.
Smith now promises to treat all people with respect going forward – offering an apology to Rock for any hurt caused by his actions which had been prompted by a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s lack of hair.
