According to a post on Instagram from the festival organizers, Long Live Lagos will be one of the featured documentaries at this year’s festival, which runs from June 4 to June 15 in New York City.
This documentary will take a closer look at Wizkid’s journey, starting from his early life in Lagos to his rise as a global music sensation.
It will delve into his immense influence on both African and international music, offering viewers a closer look at his creative process, career milestones, and cultural impact.
The Tribeca Film Festival, known for its diverse programming, will also feature live conversations and special performances, providing an interactive experience for attendees.
Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, first rose to fame with the release of his debut album, Superstar, in 2011.
He has since released several successful albums, including Ayo (2014), Sound from the Other Side (2017), and More Love, Less Ego (2022).
His most recent album, Morayo, was released on November 22, 2024, as a tribute to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
