Workers Day FG Declares May 1 Public Holiday

In honor of Workers Day, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared May 1st as a public holiday.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, announced the declaration on behalf of the government and encouraged workers to celebrate under the theme of “SOLIDARITY FOREVER: CELEBRATING THE COLLECTIVE STRENGTH OF NIGERIAN WORKERS.”

Aregbesola expressed his deep solidarity with workers and praised their resilience, hard work, diligence, and sacrifice, noting that their contributions are essential for the greatness of the country and her dignity.

He emphasized the importance of productivity and its role in creating value, providing goods and services, and generating wealth for both individuals and the nation as a whole.

The Minister congratulated workers across the country and urged them to continue their dedication and commitment to work.
