Redmi K30 Ultra is one of Xiaomi latest devices and in this write up i will be talking about its features, price in Nigeria and complete specs.
As the name implies, it is a more powerful version of the Standard K30. And for those who wonder how this product compares to the K30 Pro, the K30 Ultra is not as powerful as the K30 Pro.
In other words, if we’re to arrange these three phones, based on their power, the K30 Pro will come first, the K30 Ultra will come second, and the Standard K30 will come third.
While you may have already read about both the Redmi K30 and the Redmi K30 Pro, the differences between these phones and the K30 Ultra are significant enough to make it worthwhile explicitly reading about the K30 Ultra.
And if you will take my suggestion, you can start with the review below. Below, I’ll be providing every important information worthwhile of knowing about the K30 Ultra. The review will cover aspects like computing hardware, design, storage, etc.
However, be aware I’m first going to provide a specs and features summary of the phone. And after providing a specs and feature summary of the product, I’ll also provide you some info about the price of the device.

From the perspective of design, the K30 Ultra is less like the Standard K30 and more like the K30 Pro.
In fact, it won’t be a blunder to say the K30 Ultra and the K30 Pro are based on the same design. The K30 Ultra has the same height of 163.3 mm and the same width of 75.4 mm.
But when it comes to thickness, the K30 Pro is a bit thicker. In addition, there features a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 in both the front of the K30 Ultra and its rear side.
While most things about the design of our subject are cool, the camera design is a bit unappealing.
There are some people who see nothing wrong with the design of the cameras, but the majority of people believe Xiaomi could have done a better job in this aspect.
In fact, we have a lot of people who consider the camera design of the Standard K30 to be much better.
When buying a build of the subject, there are three colours you will be allowed to choose from: moonlight white, midnight black, and mint green.
The moonlight white and the midnight black are simple colours, so lovers of simple colours should have no problem finding a desirable colour.
As for the mint green, it is a flashy colour, but not that flashy; in other words, lovers of flashy things shouldn’t expect this phone to be as flashy as many other phones we see out there.
The Redmi K30 Ultra is a device selling at prices between N154,000 to N188,000, so we expect it to feature good computing hardwares, and it actually does.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset. This chipset is pretty unpopular, but believe me when I say the chipset is one of MediaTek’s best products.
In other words, even though the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ isn’t popular, it performs excellently. And its excellent performance is a thing I’ve been able to confirm, after spending a few days with the phone.
Giving details, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ features an octa-core processor. The octa-core processor it features has four Cortex-A55 cores.
These four 2.00 GHz Cortex-A55 cores are the primary cores of the chipset — they are the ones which ordinarily run. The other four cores which are the secondary cores of the processor, are Cortex-A77 cores rated at 2.60 GHz.
While the octa-core processor of the phone handles its generic computing tasks, the GPU known as the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU is responsible for the graphics processing of the phone.
Earlier on, I stated that the exact amount you’ll have to be pay would be partly influenced by the RAM you want.
Well, giving details about that, if you plan buying a K30 Ultra, you’ll have the option of choosing between 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi is a brand well-known to impress, when it comes to displays. And the K30 Ultra meets up with this expectation.
The display used for the phone is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. This display is quite better, compared to that of the Standard K30, but it’s not as cool as that of the K30 Pro.
As for the resolution, I find the device to have a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, and this resolution leaves the phone with a pixel density of about 395 pixels per inch [PPI].
Another noteworthy thing is the refresh rate of the display. The refresh rate is stated to be 120 Hz, making the display of the K30 Ultra an excellent display for games.
The Android 10 operating system is the OS that powers the K30 Ultra. This OS has a lot to offer. And if you’re yet to use it, the K30 Ultra will be a good device to enjoy this OS on.
One thing you should however note is that the OS of this subject is a custom Android called the MIUI 12 operating system. I can’t say if the MIUI 12 is better than the standard Android, but I can tell you the OS is cool.
The aspect of RAM isn’t the only aspect where you’ll have to make a decision, the aspect of storage is also an aspect you’ll have to make a decision.
When buying a build of the K30 Ultra, you’ll have the option of choosing among: builds coming with 128 GB UFS 2.0 storage, builds coming with 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage, and builds coming with 512 GB UFS 2.0 storage.
128 GB should ordinarily be more than enough, but if you prefer something larger, feel free to opt-in for a 256 GB or 512 GB.
There is however one thing you have to know, only builds having 8 GB of RAM can have 256 or 512 GB storage. Builds coming with 6 GB RAM can have only 128 GB storage.
The Redmi K30 Ultra is a device featuring four rear cameras and one front camera. The main rear camera of the phone is a lens known as the Sony IMX682 Exmor RS. This lens has a resolution of 64 megapixels and happens to be a CMOS lens.
It is also capable of taking 4K videos at 30 frames per seconds and 1,080p videos at 30, 60, 120, 240, and 960 frames per seconds.
And even though the lens already has loads of hardware and software enhancements, it also has the support of a 13 MP lens which assists with ultrawideness.
The third rear camera is a 5 MP, and it also supports the Sony IMX682 Exmor RS. It supports the Sony IMX682 Exmor RS with telephoto and macro pictures. As for the 2 MP lens, its job has to do with depth.
While the Sony IMX682 Exmor RS and its assisting lenses handle the taking of standard pictures, the lens responsible for selfies is a lens known as the Samsung S5K3T2.
This lens isn’t as cool as the main rear camera, but still, you won’t be disappointed. The pictures taken by this lens left me amazed, and I doubt you won’t also feel the same way.
As you would expect the K30 Ultra is a device having support for 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.
The phone has a very strong 4G support. In other words, it doesn’t really matter which network you’re using, you should have no problem enjoying 4G.
As for 5G, this device is also one of those having support for 5G networks. 5G won’t become a serious thing in Nigeria, until after about three years.
But if you’re the kind who’s going to be travelling to developed countries of the world, you may appreciate the 5G support of this phone.
The Xiaomi Redmi K30 Ultra is a nice phone considering its specs and price in Nigeria. The product, in terms of power, is more impressive than the Standard K30.
However, the reason why I feel someone should prefer the Ultra over the Standard is 5G support. The Standard K30 has no 5G support, but the Ultra does.
