Onuachu Injury Update After Trabzonspor Brace

Paul Onuachu’s two-goal performance for Trabzonspor ended with an injury scare, but interim manager Hüseyin Çimşir expects the Nigeria international to recover in time for the club’s next Süper Lig fixture.

Onuachu gave Trabzonspor an early advantage against Gençlerbirliği, scoring after just five minutes before finding the net again in the 22nd minute. His brace helped the Black Sea Storm build a commanding lead before half-time.

However, the striker did not finish the first half. Trabzonspor replaced him with new signing Franculino Dju in the 44th minute after Onuachu suffered the injury.

Despite the early substitution, Çimşir has indicated that the problem should not keep Onuachu out for an extended period. “I don’t think it’s anything serious. There’s no problem,” Çimşir said, according to NTV Spor.

The manager’s assessment offers a positive update for Trabzonspor ahead of their next league assignment. The club will travel to face Konyaspor, with Onuachu now expected to have a chance of featuring if his recovery progresses as anticipated.

Onuachu has made four league appearances for Trabzonspor this season and has scored twice in those matches. His latest goals against Gençlerbirliği ended his wait for a league goal and came before the injury forced him from the contest.
