Citizenship and Character

• You must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.

• You must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to NAF standards.

Age Limits

• For Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC): 20 to 32 years.
• For medical consultants: up to 40 years.
• The 18–22 and 18–25 age ranges apply to non-commissioned airmen and airwomen (BMTC), not the current DSSC exercise.

Height Requirement

• Male candidates: at least 1.66 m (5 ft 5 in).
• Female candidates: at least 1.63 m (5 ft 4 in).

Educational and Professional Requirements

• Applicants with a degree must have at least a Second Class Upper division.
• HND holders must have at least Upper Credit.
• You must possess a valid NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.
• Candidates for professional fields such as medicine, engineering, or law must be registered with their relevant regulatory bodies.

Additional Rules for Serving Personnel

• The current DSSC recruitment is not for serving personnel unless they meet specific service criteria.
• Eligible serving members must have at least 10 years of service and hold the rank of Corporal or higher.
• They must also provide a recommendation letter from their commanding officer.
