Victor Osimhen has just shaken up the Turkish football scene with his latest move from Napoli to Galatasaray, and it’s anything but ordinary. The transfer fee alone stands at a staggering €75 million, smashing the country’s all-time record for any signing.

Galatasaray didn’t just break the bank—they went all in. Osimhen’s new contract is locked in for four years, starting with the 2025-2026 season, with a net salary of €15 million per year. But that’s not the full picture of what he’ll take home.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker will also earn an extra €1 million each year as a loyalty bonus, plus €5 million annually for image rights. All in, that bumps his total annual earnings to €21 million—roughly N37 billion when converted. That makes him one of the highest-paid players to ever wear a Turkish club jersey.

Back in his Napoli days, Osimhen was already making headlines as the highest-paid player in Serie A. His contract there had him pocketing around £300,000 a week, translating to more than £15.6 million a year. At one point, he was earning £253,005 per week before he even signed his improved terms.

While on loan at Galatasaray earlier, Osimhen was reportedly earning €115,000 per week after tax. That’s about £97,000 weekly, according to multiple reports. But this new permanent deal takes his income to an entirely different level.

Offers have been flying in from all corners. Premier League giants like Chelsea and Manchester United were reportedly ready to dish out as much as £400,000 a week. But Osimhen didn’t jump at those options, despite them being significantly higher than what most players ever see.

And then there were the Saudi clubs. One offer in particular stood out—Al-Hilal reportedly put €850,000 per week on the table. That’s over €44 million per year, more than double what he’ll make in Istanbul. Still, Osimhen chose a different path, focusing on football over the fattest paycheck.

What this move also means is Galatasaray now has serious firepower. With Osimhen leading the charge, the club is gearing up not just to retain their Süper Lig title, but to make a splash in Europe too. This signing sends a clear message to rivals both domestic and international.

Osimhen, who’s already among the Super Eagles’ highest goal scorers, now takes his talent to a bigger stage with more spotlight. This could elevate both his profile and Nigeria’s visibility in European competitions.

Whether or not Galatasaray recoups that massive transfer fee, the buzz around this deal is already paying off. The club isn’t just investing in goals; they’re buying global attention and serious credibility in the transfer market.
