The FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand for the first time since it’s inception in 1991, will feature 32 teams vying to win the most sought-after trophy at the international stage.

With less than 100 days to the quadrennial tournament in Australia and New Zealand, all qualified teams featuring at this year mundial will all be hoping they can put in a brilliant performance at the tournament that will win them the trophy.

While it’s a fact that not every teams featuring at this year Women’s World Cup would go on to win the trophy, with that being said the question is who are the favorite teams likely to win the title?

The United States women’s national team are the most successful team in the history of Women’s World Cup, having won four titles earning second-place once and third-place finishes three times.

With the mundial in Australia and New Zealand fast approaching the United States are no doubt one of the favorite teams to win the trophy, having won it a record four-time plus parading some of the finest women footballers in world football presently.

Though recent defeats to Spain, England and Germany at the tail end of 2022 may say otherwise concerning their favorite status, however, it will be wrong not to include them as odd favorite to win the world cup.

(3) Germany

Germany’s impressive performance throughout the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 in England still have them ranked as one the favorite teams to win the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Though recent defeat to Brazil during the international break could cause some sort of concern among the fans and few injury fear to some players, but the truth is Die Mannschaft are not pushover when it comes to women’s football at grandest of stages.

As they head into the world cup as a runner-up at the Euro 2022, they will need all the confidence, coercion and support they could garner from their fans once the ball gets rolling at the tournament.

Though key-players won’t be available for the mundial but with the return of their experience captain Wendie Renard, fans should expect the French women team to give us a brilliant performance at the world cup.

(5) Australia

It will be totally unwise not include co-host country Australia as one of the favorite teams to win the world cup, having recorded a resounding victories during their overseas tour.

The Matildas triumph against England came as a huge motivation for the team ahead of the commencement of the tournament in few times, plus they have an in-form Sam Kerr who is rearing to go take her Chelsea’s form to the international stage.

Australia might not be an absolute favorite considering how well they’ve fare in previous world cup, but the fact that they are a co-host, plus they will have their fans rooting for them placed them confidently among the top favorite to triumph at the end of the tournament.
