Manchester City will look to make a winning return after their two-game winless streak when they take on relegation-threatened Bournemouth this evening (Saturday) at the Vitality Stadium.
The reigning champions were held back by Nottingham Forest last week, resulting in them being knocked off the top of the Premier League table by rivals Arsenal.
The Citizens also conceded an equalizing goal against RB Leipzig in their Champions League first leg fixture on Wednesday.
Despite this, they have won seven out of the past eight games.
However, City has not been doing well away results recently, having only won one out of their last six away fixtures and conceding in each of those five matches.
In order for Guardiola’s side to be successful in closing the gap between them and Arsenal, who will face Leicester earlier in the day, there can be no margin for error during their match against Bournemouth.
For Bournemouth, this could be a huge morale booster if they can get something from the game as they registered their first win since before the World Cup two weeks ago.
Nevertheless, they are still 17th in the league and just one point above West Ham United who is currently facing relegation.
When Manchester City clashed with Bournemouth back in August it ended 4-0 to Man City – and a similar result is expected come Saturday night.
