Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, has explained the tactical errors that led to their 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.
City took the lead in the first half with a stunning long-range goal from Rodri, and Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland added goals after the break.
Tuchel acknowledged that his team deserved at least one goal but gave away too many opportunities. He also noted that his players were lacking in confidence and form.
Tuchel, speaking to Prime Video, said: “I think we deserved at least one goal and gave away one or two too many. I think our players were lacking a bit in confidence and form.
“Of course, the result is bitter for us. I fell in love with my team a little today, the way they performed. Even if it sounds strange, that was a lot of fun.”
Despite the bitter result, Tuchel expressed his love for his team’s performance and found the match to be a lot of fun.
