50 Passengers Put in trouble As Nigerian Plane Skids Off MMA Runway

A United Nigeria Airlines plane carrying 50 passengers skidded off the runway at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, causing the aircraft to be stuck on the ground.

The plane had flown in from Abakaliki airport in Ebonyi and was landing on the 18L runway when the incident occurred at around 3pm on Wednesday.

The cause of the incident is unknown, but the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications stated that all passengers disembarked safely and were transported to the arrival hall with their luggage.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the airline’s engineers were working to move the aircraft to the hangar for inspection, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau were also notified and on the scene.

The airline assured the public that it maintains strict safety standards and prioritizes passenger safety.
