In an effort to alleviate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced a 50% reduction in transportation prices for all state-owned transport systems.
This decision was made to lessen the burden on citizens and provide relief during these challenging times.
Additionally, the government plans to distribute foodstuff to vulnerable individuals in the state as part of their palliative measures.
The informal transportation sector, including yellow buses, has also agreed to reduce their charges by 25%.
These changes will take effect from Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
