President Tinubu to Name 37 Cabinet Members, El-Rufai's Role Revealed

There are concerns that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may decide to drop Nasir El-Rufai from becoming a minister and a member of his cabinet.

However, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and director-general of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, has urged President Tinubu not to make this decision.

Okechukwu believes that El-Rufai is a valuable asset who can help revive the power sector in Nigeria.

He argues that removing El-Rufai from the system would result in more Nigerians being disconnected from the national electricity grid.

Okechukwu acknowledges that he is not a cheerleader for El-Rufai, but he believes that El-Rufai’s track record and expertise make him well-suited to transform the electricity chain and improve the energy industry.

Despite facing petitions and pressure during the ministerial screening, El-Rufai’s capabilities and potential contributions to the power sector should not be overlooked.
